In December 2020, Metropolitan AME Church brought a lawsuit against the Proud Boys and its leaders for their attack on our church. We won. In June 2023, the court ordered the Proud Boys to pay us more than $2.8 million in damages, but they did not pay. To make them pay, we filed another lawsuit and asked for the rights to the Proud Boys trademark. And we won again. Join us in celebrating this victory and continuing our fight for racial justice, human dignity, and Black liberation.
